Late 30s/Early 40s

I am turning 38 years old in November this year and I feel that the age bracket I’m in is one of the most powerful points in a human’s life.  This is because IMHO a person needs a nice cushion of at least 20 years to grow and process the mistakes and hurts from their adolescent and youth years.  Late teens and early 20s is a typical time frame for 1st loves and some first marriages too (raises hand…I initially got married in 1999) plus your first losses such as friendship breakdowns, jobs, and in most cases the losses of those early significant relationships, etc.  Once you get a solid 20 years to process and learn from repeated lessons now you enter the power era.

One of 2 things will happen.  You will choose to be held back by the pains of youth or you will choose to push forward.  This is truly a honorable gift, and for me it’s the most humbling.  I personally feel like Earth owes you nothing, but as a person choosing to be alive especially at this era in human history you owe it as much as possible with the gifts of who you are.  For me as I enter into the “new era” I hold this idea as a form of trust as if there’s one side effect in our conforming-to- standards world that we all suffer from it’s a lack of trust.  This process is unfolding for me as I type this post and will likely unfold more as I fully enter this era.  It feels scary but is empowering.
